More active than the ones here. I am thinking this has been abandoned by administrators because it is they who usually check in daily and reply or post something. Even guy at SdlBasic says, "Thanks for sharing." BTW Tomaaz is correct, you've ( aurel) had allot of forums that failed one way or another. I thought this place might be the replacement for Retro... / BP.org IMHO.

Speaking of old places, this: sdlbasic.epizy.com/index.phpHad post from Johnno over a month ago in reply to AndyA which was sort of interesting to see him back there after being gone so long.

Yes, it does seem rather quiet here. Perhaps we all need to advertise it’s existence.

bplus I just popped in to check out the allbasic site... "Registration DISABLED"...? Then you have to email to apply to join? Weird or what? John S. probably wants to personally approve each and every member and is good way to keep robo spammers out. If join, better sing praises of Script Basic. johnno56 I am curious all the forums you visit in a day. I do this, Aurels's new one, RCBasic, ALLBASIC has RetroGame...SmallBasic old forum (Read Only), SmallBASIC, Steve's old QB64 forum, Pete's Qbasic less often but mostly QB64, JB and LB, and Syntax Bomb current SmallBASIC forum.

The homepage that I created for my browsers has links to: SDLBasic, RCBasic, QB64, BBCSDL, Friends of Basic and Basic4all. SDLBasic has not had any activity for a month or more. BBC rarely visit. 'Friends' is also very quiet. Several times a day I move between RC, QB and Basic4all. Occasionally I will visit other sites but I rarely drift beyond the homepage. Syntaxbomb around game jam season. Haven't been on smallbasic in ages...

Yes, this forum has been abandoned!
BlitzBasic is dead. PowerBasic costs money. FreeBasic is limiting and the community sucks. QB64, compared to FreeBasic, is underneath the totem pole due to horrid & buggy source code, limitations of platforms, and horrid community leaders, with tons of haters in that community.
The admin's moved on from these communities and programming languages after they got a taste of C++ (thanks to me).
As for me... I'm too busy to deal with any of these BASIC communities and projects. With over 66k of legitimate members on my Facebook group, and 800 members on my Discord server, my communities are way more profitable and busy then any of the BASIC programming language communities. I teach C++ to people in over 120 countries, and this is something that none of your BASIC communities will ever achieve.
Then there are my three websites, ModernBasic 128 Studio, and other projects that keep me busy as well that allows me to help people people with real-world coding that they can take with them into the professional world. All those BASIC languages are for the simple coders, those who have nothing better to do then to dwell in nostalgia, those who can't wrap their heads around real programming problems, and those who rather be limited in what they can achieve.
I have already been approached by several publishing companies, including APRESS, begging me to write C++ books for them. Some even asked me about writing books on QB64, but when I showed them how insignificant, crappy, as-well-as bug-ridden, they quickly stuck it in reverse and slammed the petal to the metal.
How did they know about me, through all my work, and through other C++ book authors I personally helped.
I find it extremely funny how I left the horse-poopy-hole QB64 community in 2018, started learning C++, and now I have bigger communities then they could ever imagine, and have companies asking me to work for them, something that will never happen to any of the QB64 Team jokers!
So, yeah, you people should start your own BASIC communities and have fun doing it. They are a lot of hard work and are not for the faint of heart. It takes a lot of time, work, effort, and marketing to bring people in. Plus, there is policing the forums, which is very time consuming in itself. But, I can't imagine doing all that hard work for things that will never amount to anything in real life. Your sites and forums will never become big or amount to a hill-of-beans, but keep on keeping on (as Joe Dirt once stated)!

well maybe you ahve a right one thing is for sure some of them hate FreeBasic ..more that Python can you imagine that and don't take things too personally ..this is just a internet. Actually, aurel, no, I can't imagine someone hating FreeBasic more the Python. The thought of that is insane to me. But again, I am bias because I hate Python with a passion, just like I do JAVA.

Yes, it does seem rather quiet here. Perhaps we all need to advertise it’s existence. Well, it seems like things have livened up a bit since my last visit.

it is up to you will you join or notso richy will you? advertise why ..when most of member here spending time on endless and often useless talks on Discord yes i know that . Yes, I’ll join your forum Aurel. We need places where like-minded individuals can come together to discuss shared interests and find a refuge and distraction from the creeping authoritarianism we’re witnessing across the world.
