In the world of BASIC there are MANY different kinds, kinda like all the MANY distrobutions of Linux. Each having strengths and weaknesses. Advantages over, and disadvantages under other ones. What would be nice, but would also take away any compition, is one BASIC that can gather all the strengths of the different types of Basic and Basic-like languages. Combining it all into one to supply the masses. This, of course, is too much to hope for, but something nice to dream about. One World Basic - a combined effort to create a Basic that rivals all other languages.

That's one of the things I am trying to accomplish with ModernBASIC 128 Studio! Walter Whitman The Joyful Programmer

The ModernBASIC 128 Logo looks good on any solid color background. I created this logo myself in Corel Draw. Walter Whitman

Hi Walter,
Is there a working version of MB128 to "test drive" or is it still in development? Keen to try it.

Johnno56, No, ModernBASIC 128 Studio has been in the pre-planning and planning stages for over a year now. It took a long while to figure what direction I wanted to take with project, what it will offer, and tons of other details. This is not a simple project to take on, like rewriting QB64 from scratch. No, I had to do a lot of soul searching, spend countless hours brainstorming with my self and other people, writing notes, learning to code Linux with OpenGL, learn project management, and the list goes on and on.
Like I said, ModernBASIC 128 Studio is not a simple product or project, so it needed a good bit of time. However, as much as I worked driving female inmates around, to and from work, I couldn't spend a lot of time on it like I wanted. I know I haven't posted very much about the project, so people tend to think I'm not working on it, but I invested thousands of hours on the project so far, learning, researching, reading, studying, brainstorming, and writing dozens upon dozen of small demos to test out some technologies I will be using in the project. Now, I feel like I am at a good point in the project where I can start drafting the SSD (Software Specification Document) where I not only detail how to create the project, but also define/sketch/draw all the elements, screenshots, data layouts, and so forth. Once I can get all that done, then coding will commence. I actually have several professional coders who are interested in helping with the project, so I will not be the only working on the project. But, since the project is my baby, I have to define it before anyone else can help me craft it. On a final note, I'm just as anxious to use this product as anyone else, and with the things I have envisioned, let's just say that this is a revolutionary product, unlike anything anyone has even seen. I'm truly excited about this project, and to be honest, this project has gone way beyond just another BASIC programming language, especially since it will start out as three. Bplus, thank you!
Yes, that is a cool looking logo, but it describes ModernBASIC 128 Studio to a tee.
However, I've updated the logo a bit, so here are the new logos.
