Someone was asking about my GUI and mixing that with a Menu System code. I said not likely because my GUI wants to take control of mouse and determine which event should run. Anyway I got roped into the project when I became curious if we could match a Spreadsheet type control. Here's a shot of GUI in action, don't know it will take the zip because an exe is in there for browsing files and folders to get ____Class.txt files with a list of student names made with any old WP. Opps! File too big, I suspected it might be. Too bad! I have it posted at PE Forum for QB64pe versions: qb64phoenix.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1175&pid=10699#pid10699You can read the discussion that lead up to this latest GUI opus there.

Will this forum be able to take an updated version that no longer requires an exe and it's source. Now that QB64pe.exe version 3.4.1 has dialogs for: FileOpen, FileSave, Message box and Input Box my GUI code library is much lighter in LOC! Let's see if now light enough? OK See Class Notes.txt for some hints and warnings for using GUI Gradebook Editor (mostly a proof of concept demo). You got it, now get QB64pe version 3.4.1 to run it ;-)) github.com/QB64-Phoenix-Edition/QB64pe/releases/tag/v3.4.1

Thanks Charlie, I'm afraid I have to agree with mnrvovrfc's assessment at QB64 PE Forum. The Score Text Box is a little buggy along with the scroller that is slow as dickens (don't know why this is different from other List Box apps). "Ponderous" is term she used and compared to a straight up Basic Input file, it is. The GUI is not paying for itself in added quality given all the extra LOC. Still we learn from our mistakes or could if we study them a bit. The new _OpenFileDialog$ worked so well I have to adjust (non)-error message when user Cancels from that Dialog. charliejv This is like our own private forum for chit chat, reminds me of when Johnno and I were only ones regularly piping in at old SmallBASIC forum RIP.

Yeah, I don't mind so much quiet places to shoot the breeze with good folk.
The QB64pe site is a bit too busy, and I was getting too anxious trying to get interest in BAM as a sidekick for QB64. So not talking about BAM over there anymore, and my last quest for help to understand the SOUND statement didn't get much help.
I'm enjoying conversations much more here, over at Retrocoders, and on Reddit. Just the right speed for this kid.
Besides, I'd hate to see a site like this one go away, so gotta try and show a little bit of activity.

Sorry I couldn't help with Sound stuff, just not my cup of tea.
I did see stuff for playing scales and know if I really wanted I could get some music score and figure a translation but...
I suppose it'd be slightly more interesting to play chords and play sounds in synch with pictures.
