blitzmax.org/docs/en/setup/get_started/It seems promising: Windows, Linux and Android. What more I can ask! Before I spend more time to learn about it, I need to hear your opinions. When I was a teen, I ever spent some time to learn BASIC but now I'm totally a newbie in the BASIC world. Do you use BlitzMax? I checked the website, they never mention the price. Is it really free? They said it supports building native binaries for many OSes, does it easy to do it? As easy as flipping some switches? BlitzMax is garbage collected. I know some hate garbage collection. Is garbage collection so bad? What would you say about it? Sorry for asking too much questions. I am doing research on which BASIC should I learn. I do not have any goal currently. But I like to build some simple games, no need 3D. But it would be nice if someday I can build 3D games. Not my priority but I am thinking to build POS program for my friend's shop in the future, maybe I can make some money from programming.

Mostly I use Open source languages, although I have used proprietary languages in the past. Ask as many questions as you like. This forum is here for such things. As more people join, and I am hoping they do, you may get more answers to your questions. My main programming projects are text-based, but I have also done some graphics programming and some games.

Yes, handoko, I have used BlitzMax, BlitzPlus, BlitzBasic, BlitzPro, MonkeyX, and MonkeyX 2 by Mark Silby.
All those I mentioned above, except for MonkeyX 2 (which was still paid the last time I looked) are free for download, and all of them are open source (which I have all of them: source and executabels). Mark gave up trying to make money apparently.
No, garbage collecting isn't that bad, as long as it goes un-noticed.
Please ask all the question you like. Admin, please create a category for "Blitz Products: BlitzBasic, BlitzPro, BlitzPlus, and BlitzMax". The MonkeyX languages are less then BASIC and more like C++, so I don't think a category for them would be useful here. Plus, you won't get very much traffic.
